IGRAFX® 2007 PRODUCT SUITE INCREASES SUPPORT FOR ENTERPRISE BUSINESS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
New features dramatically streamline users’ ability to document and model business and IT processes in support of organizational strategies and goals.
Tualatin, OR - March 28, 2007 - iGrafx®, a leading provider of Business Process Analysis and Modeling software, announced the availability of the 2007 version of its popular iGrafx family of solutions for process excellence. iGrafx 2007 enhances iGrafx modeling and simulation capabilities as well as improves the integration of the desktop modelers with iGrafx server products.
iGrafx 2007 extends its lead over competing solutions by unifying process excellence teams through the most user-friendly, collaborative environment available for modeling, analyzing and improving business processes. With iGrafx, users can document and verify the alignment of current organizational processes with strategic goals and initiatives, test alternative scenarios against the current state, and then deploy only the most efficient process improvement changes. Additionally, the easy to understand iGrafx visual models can be exported as executable code and used by IT systems, thus aligning business and IT processes. With the ability to document and understand current state processes and the impact of changes to these processes, iGrafx 2007 also provides support for compliance and governance initiatives.
"As companies increase their focus on enterprise-wide goals and initiatives, customers are seeking complete solutions that can address process improvement across their entire organization," said Ken Carraher, president, iGrafx. "As a result, iGrafx has evolved our Business Process Analysis and Modeling tools to provide a combined solution that can model and analyze complex processes and provide a broader view across the organization." iGrafx 2007 delivers to all users a greater visibility and understanding of how processes are linked to organizational strategies, which constitute risk, how to define a road map to improvement, and how to visualize the impact of change.
New features in iGrafx 2007
The combination of these new features allows organizations to become more agile in understanding and managing the improvement of critical business processes.
- Enhanced Enterprise Modeling: In addition to modeling human resources, iGrafx 2007 lets users perform IT architecture modeling to describe how IT systems support processes and analyze resource contention. Users can build consistent models and speed development with the new shared resource model by reusing organization elements across multiple models.
- Improved Lean and Six Sigma Support: iGrafx 2007 offers great new features for Lean users including the ability to create Extended Value Stream Maps to obtain a lean view that crosses plant, divisional, and company boundaries. Six Sigma enthusiasts, on the other hand, will use the new Prioritization and Failure Mode Spreadsheets to spotlight improvement opportunities and mitigate failure mode effects faster. Users will also be able to define and scope Six Sigma projects, and identify progress towards process goals with the use of iGrafx Process Central repository.
- New Process Lifecycle Management: In iGrafx 2007, models now progress through multiple stages of maturity from review, to approval and sign-off for complete process lifecycle management. Users can also monitor work in progress and obtain e-mail notifications when documents are modified.
- Additional Enhancements: iGrafx 2007 contains multiple collaboration and time-saving features. For example, in addition to web and Microsoft® Office publishing, users can now output and share iGrafx models as PDF documents. Furthermore, new shape numbering changes cascade through the hierarchy improving model consistency and understanding. The new “where used” search allow users to view all instances where an activity is used to build models faster with consistency, validity and accuracy. iGrafx 2007 also includes new improved documentation and tutorials to further extend its lead in ease of use.
