What is iGrafx® Process Central®?

What exactly is a repository?

Do customers need to purchase a separate database for iGrafx Process Central?
Customers have the option of purchasing iGrafx Process Central with or without Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
If a customer already owns Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or uses Oracle databases , can they use their existing SQL software with iGrafx Process Central?
Yes. For customers who already own SQL Server 2000 or intend to use Oracle databases, iGrafx Process Central can be purchased without SQL Server 2000. However, iGrafx Process Central runs on Oracle 8i or later and does not run on Microsoft SQL Server 7.
What solution do we offer users who need to view information in iGrafx Process Central but not modify any content?
There are two options; the iGrafx Process Viewer or Web Central. The Viewer provides a client experience identical to other iGrafx base applications except repository documents can't be authored or modified. Web Central gives read-only and annotation access to repositories via Web browsers.
Does iGrafx Process Central work with iGrafx IDEF0?
Yes, however, there are limitations regarding the sharing of IDEF0 sub-processes by multiple repository documents.
How is iGrafx Process Central important to organizations seeking ISO certification or implementing Six Sigma?
Both ISO and Six Sigma initiatives require a collaborative, team-oriented approach. iGrafx Process Central promotes teamwork and improved communication within an organization through managing the sharing, distribution, revision and approval process crucial to success. For example, ISO certification requires only approved documents to be widely available within an organization. iGrafx Process Central makes this easy. As soon as a document revision is electronically approved, that version is immediately exposed to the enterprise via the Web (using Web Central). While this approved version is accessible, restricted "work-in-progress" versions of the same document can be modified and updated by the process improvement team.
Can files other than .igx be used in the repository?
Yes. Any file (e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel®, etc.) can be stored and managed in the repository.
How easy to use is iGrafx Process Central?
iGrafx Process Central is very easy to use. The intuitive user interface is tightly integrated into iGrafx FlowCharter, iGrafx Process, and iGrafx Process for Six Sigma.

The product was tested with the Oracle Provider for OLE DB version 9.0.1.0.1 and the Oracle ODBC driver version 9.00.15. These client-side drivers were tested against both Oracle 9i and Oracle 8i servers. Using other versions of the Drivers or Servers may not work. |
