| Product Spotlight – iGrafx Process Central |
|---|
Business process management (BPM) across the enterprise can’t be accomplished without continuous, comprehensive business process analysis (BPA). Equally, effective communication and collaboration among key cross-functional, often geographically dispersed, stakeholders participating in process improvement initiatives is key to success. Senior Management, Process Owners, Enterprise Business and Process Architects, Process Modelers, Business Analysts, IT Personnel, and individuals performing activities and tasks must all have visibility into and a consistent understanding of the processes governing the business. iGrafx Process Central facilitates effective communication and collaboration among key stakeholders as both pertain to process-related information. Underlying iGrafx Process Central is a robust data repository in which iGrafx and complementary non-iGrafx documents are centrally stored, versioned, and managed. As role-based privileges permit, individuals can check-out and check-in documents thereby eliminating conflict while simultaneously managing change introduced by multiple stakeholders over time. Automated review/approve/endorse cycles of documents are easily administered. Visibility of information can be limited to approved versions only. Inline annotation facilitates contextually relevant, electronic feedback visible to all concerned. Individuals can be notified when changes arise in one or more documents. iGrafx Process Central facilitates effective communication and collaboration among key stakeholders as both pertain to process-related information.
Documents can be published and reviewed in many formats including Word, PowerPoint, PDF, and “intelligent” HTML as well as language of preference in the case of multi-lingual documents. The repository and contained documents can be searched and perused by authorized individuals utilizing any iGrafx client application or merely an Internet browser. When perusing repository information, individuals can easily navigate the repository folder hierarchy, process architecture, or defined RACI relationships. iGrafx Process Central also enables standardization of process documentation and re-use of shared information throughout an enterprise’s business and process architecture. Furthermore, as this shared information – e.g. resource model – changes over time, changes are automatically propagated to aspects of the enterprise and/or process architecture to which they pertain. Re-use of shared information occurs by reference vs. copy which leads to consistent and accurate process models, simpler maintenance of process-related information, and the ability to perform comprehensive impact analysis of proposed change throughout an enterprise’s business and process architecture. As the stakeholder community utilizing iGrafx’s comprehensive BPA solution grows within an organization, the use of Process Central becomes an imperative to effective communication and collaboration providing controlled transparency into the processes governing the business.
