Product Spotlight – iGrafx Enterprise Modeler®

As organizations become more process-centric and continuously strive to achieve process excellence, business process analysis (BPA) across the entire enterprise is paramount to success. iGrafx Enterprise Modeler® permits companies to model their enterprise and align processes, resources, and systems with corporate goals and strategies to effectively enable compliance and risk management, enterprise architecture and quality improvement initiatives.

If it’s important to the business, it’s in the model!

In order for Business and IT stakeholders to effectively collaborate, the operational and supporting process landscapes comprising an organization’s process architecture must be comprehensively modeled and seamlessly aligned. By creating and maintaining an enterprise model, stakeholders, business leaders, and employees responsible and accountable for activities comprising business processes ensure alignment with corporate goals and strategies and identify and collaboratively capitalize upon opportunities for improvement without disrupting business operations.

With iGrafx Enterprise Modeler®, an inventory of enterprise elements is documented including goals; strategies; human, hardware, and software resources; requirements; products and services; risks and controls; measurements; projects; contracts; and processes. If it’s important to the business, it’s in the model! More importantly, Enterprise Modeler® permits one to define inter-relationships between these enterprise elements thereby constructing a comprehensive enterprise model. With a model prepared, multi-dimensional business process analysis (BPA) is performed. Dimensions of analysis include performance, compliance, risk, impact, gap, and RACI (responsible, accountable, consulted, and informed). Furthermore, inter-relationships are established by reference such that future changes to the enterprise model are automatically propagated thereby ensuring the model’s integrity and accuracy.

With a comprehensive enterprise model:

  • Senior executives and process owners stay abreast of key performance indicators by perusing informative dashboards and underlying scorecards seamlessly linked to pertinent elements of the enterprise model including the process model(s) for which they apply.
  • Personnel responsible for ensuring corporate compliance with industry regulations and those managing risk can more easily perform their duties.
  • New employees quickly understand their role, responsibilities, and the process contexts in which activities performed pertain including upstream and downstream processes and activities.
  • Process activities are performed consistently by all relevant employees throughout an organization.
  • Business stakeholders communicate requirements to IT personnel and both collaboratively ensure supporting systems are appropriately implemented and configured to address them.
  • And, when introduced, change intended to improve operations is managed effectively to achieve desired outcomes and ensure lack of disruption to business operations.

Customers are reaping benefits utilizing iGrafx to improve their business. We invite you to leverage iGrafx Enterprise Modeler® and, in doing so, enjoy greater benefits as you pursue process excellence in a coordinated manner throughout your organization and become more mature in your business process improvement and management activities.

Customer Success Story
COLT Telecom Group
iGrafx Training

COLT Telecom Group has been providing data, voice and managed services to enterprise customers and governments across Europe since 1993 and is known for its commitment to providing excellent service and highly resilient, secure network services. Thriving in the fast-changing and highly competitive telecom marketplace, COLT has grown from being a single city-based network in London to one that covers 13 countries and provides last-mile fiber access to over 16,000 buildings in 34 major cities. Not too surprisingly, this rapid growth led to disparate and inconsistent processes. To ensure continued delivery of a first class service, COLT realized that they had to consolidate a diverse collection of company wide process documentation into a central repository under a standard methodology. To address this challenge, they turned to iGrafx.

COLT Telecom Group

We invite you to read the COLT Telecom Group Case Study and learn how COLT leveraged iGrafx® FlowCharter™ 2009 and iGrafx® Process Central® 2009 to provide management and all 4,600 COLT staff visibility into and a detailed understanding of how processes actually work from a customer perspective.
