With advanced visualization, analysis and reporting capabilities, you have the power you need to identify and implement optimal business processes. Designed for both simulation experts and non-experts, users can identify and eliminate bottlenecks, shorten cycle times, and optimize resources with powerful and intuitive features.

Who can benefit from using iGrafx Process?

iGrafx Process is ideal for individuals involved in process excellence initiatives. It provides an effective and logical approach to mapping and simulating processes, and is being used by:

  • Business Analysts
  • Process Analysts
  • Process Owners
  • Quality Specialists
  • Project Managers
  • Management Consultants
  • Production Teams
  • Logistics Departments

How does iGrafx Process work with the iGrafx platform?

iGrafx Process can be used as a stand-alone application, or connected to the iGrafx platform to edit, store, manage and share iGrafx process and enterprise models in a central repository.

How does iGrafx Process support my Lean initiatives?

By combining the power of visualization, modeling and process management, iGrafx Process enables companies to improve their Lean ROI by facilitating the creation of critical diagrams and value stream maps, and perpetually tracking, managing and communicating Lean process knowledge. Our Lean palette and Value Stream Map diagram type allows for fast and easy analysis by an automatic timeline that calculates totals for Value Added Time, Non-Value Added Time, Lead Time, and Process Efficiency for you.

Can I create BPMN diagrams in iGrafx Process?

Yes, iGrafx has extended its wide range of process mapping notations with the inclusion of Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN). Available as a standard component in the iGrafx process modeling solutions, users can easily create BPMN diagrams using an intuitive interface that automatically manages many of the drawing tasks. A customized BPMN palette, correct-by-constructing editing, rules checking, and intelligent formatting ensures your diagrams are BPMN compliant the first time they are drawn.

Can I experiment with changes in my business processes without costly interruptions to existing workflow?

You can use iGrafx Process to simulate and analyze process changes without costly work interruptions, enabling you to realize significant improvements in cycle times, costs, resource utilization, and other process outcomes.

Do I still get state-of-the-art features for visualizing all your process maps and flowcharts in iGrafx Process?

iGrafx Process includes the same great process mapping and diagramming features as iGrafx FlowCharter – including Java® support, smart departments, automatic line routing, automatic off-page connectors, automatic shape numbering and many others.

Is it easy to describe process behaviors using iGrafx Process?

You can use iGrafx Process to model the behavior of any real-life business process. For example, a queue of transactions might only be released to a subsequent activity when allowed by the scheduler. Or a set of transactions could wait until they all arrive at a particular activity.

What about performing resource and cost analysis? Is it fast and accurate?

iGrafx Process lets you quickly identify and correct resource bottlenecks by using simulation statistics that are automatically classified by department and activity. In addition, reports quantify cost data so you can understand activity costs within a process.

Can I analyze resources that work under non-standard schedules?

With iGrafx Process, you can use custom schedules to control the availability of resources, define resources that work at different times of the day, or schedule activities to only occur during times specified.

Can I visually simulate any business process and see actual or potential trouble spots?

The iGrafx Process Trace feature provides an excellent method for identifying bottlenecks in any process. It animates the simulation, graphically displaying via changing colors how the process is performing.

Can I analyze and simulate more than one scenario?

Use iGrafx Process to create multiple scenarios to run on the same process. You can easily compare and analyze the results of multiple scenarios because you have the option of outputting them to a single report.

How does iGrafx Process display simulation reports?

You can view report statistics in either a Tabular or Graphical view.

Can I reuse and simulate diagrams created in iGrafx FlowCharter?

All process maps created using iGrafx FlowCharter are compatible with iGrafx Process. The key difference between the two products is the ability to simulate and perform “what-if-analysis” in iGrafx Process.

Do you offer training and consulting services?

Yes. We have a training and consulting team who can work with you to structure the support that you need. From on-site training to process management consulting services, our experts can help you understand your processes and identify the critical factors. We also conduct public training sessions.

Does iGrafx Process work with Windows 10?

Yes. iGrafx Process is Certified for Windows 10.

Will iGrafx Process open documents created in earlier software versions?

Yes, the latest version of iGrafx Process can open all earlier versions of FlowCharter, Process, and Process for Six Sigma files.

Additionally, iGrafx Process can open the following:

  • ABC FlowCharter® (versions 4, 6, and 7)
  • Optima (any version)
  • Visio (versions 4, 5, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013)

Also, if you create a new document in iGrafx Process, you can open it in previous versions, or you can save it as an earlier version if you choose. Keep in mind that some data pertaining to new features introduced in the latest version iGrafx Process may be lost using this process.

Can iGrafx models use external data for simulations?

Model activity data, such as the task duration time, can be imported from any ODBC-compliant data file. Model transaction attribute data, such as the size of each transaction, can be imported from Excel dynamically at the beginning of each simulation.
