Announcing our Latest Report: Disrupted or Disruptor – Which Side Are You On?

Digital Transformation.  Automation.  Robotic Process Automation (RPA).  Center of Excellence (CoE).  Customer Experience (CX).  Customer Journey Mapping.  Artificial Intelligence (AI).  Blockchain.  Internet of Things (IoT).  The 4th Industrial Revolution.  Per the ancient Chinese proverb, we certainly live in interesting times.  You can’t set foot into your email box/social feeds without being buried in a digital landslide of articles, tweets, case studies, infographics, analyst research reports and press releases heralding something “digital business transformation related.”  It’s overwhelming.

As you know from some of my previous blogs, this is something I’ve thought quite a bit about in my time at iGrafx.  After parsing the onslaught of information and FUD and deconstructing the mountain of buzzwords it became clear that there were ultimately two (and opposite) outcomes that businesses face at the end of the Digital Transformation tunnel: 1) being an industry disruptor or, 2) being disrupted by others in the industry.  And based on the examples we’ve all heard ad nauseam, being disrupted sucks.  Think Kodak underestimating digital photography, Blockbuster clinging to brick & mortar video rentals and getting Netflixed, all the hotels and resorts being short-sheeted by Airbnb, Yellow Cab getting knocked off the road by Uber and everyone from booksellers to retail stores to web hosting facilities feeling the crush of Amazon.

At iGrafx we’re 100% focused on helping our customers land on the disrupting end of the tunnel, so we recently invested time and dollars into a primary research project to help you determine how your peers from around the world are approaching transformation, automation and disruption.  We partnered with the PEX Network – probably the largest community of transformation focused individuals in the world – and they created the survey, managed the data collection and provided the analysis with input from their wide network of subject matter experts.

The result is: “Disrupted or Disruptor: Which Side Are You On?” – an extensive, data and insight-rich report authored by PEX Network.  From the data, you can see exactly how you compare to your peers, and how your organization’s plans are hitting or missing the mark, along with what the experts suggest you do about it.  Please check it out and let me know what you think!  I’d love to hear your feedback, comments and suggestions.
